• Claiming a leak allowance

Am I eligible for an allowance?

As your retailer, your wholesaler charges water2business for all the water recorded by your meter. They set specific criteria for reducing bills where the water has been leaked or wasted and calculate any allowances due. We, in turn, pass on 100% of the allowance they calculate to our customers.

To help see if you are eligible to claim for an allowance we have detailed some quick points for you below, depending on who your wholesaler is. If your wholesaler's policy doesn't appear below you may be able to find it here.

Full details can be found here.

    • You may only claim for one leak allowance per site, during your responsibility of the supply. If you have already received a leakage allowance, you will not be eligible for a further one.
    • Your claim must be submitted to your wholesaler within six months of the date of repair. If you repaired your leak prior to six months ago, we will be unable to request an allowance.
    • The allowance will be applied for up to one billing period for 50% above your normal consumption.
    • You are required to provide meter readings or proof of monitoring your supply to reduce leakage to support your claim.
    • You must provide a reading taken upon the repair of your leak.
    • You will need to provide two check readings, following the repair of your leak, at least seven days apart.
    • You must provide evidence of the leak and/or the leak repair - this could be in the form of a contractor repair invoice, photograph of the leak and photograph of the repair.
